Michigan History
In this fun class, students will learn about Michigan’s history, landmarks, animals and more! Class time will include read-alouds with students then having hands-on activities and experiments based on the reading. Facts and ideas will come to life as they spend time together mapping, building, coloring and experimenting! Homework will be minimal, with a year-end project (building/painting/cooking/or lapbook, etc.) that will be shown in class. My goal for this class is that students will not only learn how and why Michigan exists, but
also understand and appreciate all that our state has to offer!

Exploring Creation with Science Lower
I love how science points continuously to God our creator! It is exciting to be able to teach children about God’s creation and in that process learn more about God and His handiwork. The science topics will be on a 4-year rotation. They do not build on each other. Any loop can be taken at any time. Class time will
always include hands on experiments, demonstrations, and games to reinforce the learning. Between class times students will be expected to complete the reading and the homework. As a homeschooling mom, I know you are the educator and feel my responsibility is to provide the framework, experiments, group work, and basic knowledge to assist you in your child’s education.

Upper Elementary Spanish
Building on what your student has learned the year prior, in upper elementary Spanish class we will be applying more complicated Spanish and understanding. There will be more conversational Spanish and understanding throughout the year. You student will be asked to do some homework and look up some more information regarding specific topics. Conjugation of verbs will be important to properly speak. Vocabulary will grow. We will ask parent to reinforce the language at home by having shows be shown in Spanish as opposed to English. We will be working on handwriting as well as accent marks and pronunciations during this class. All this with a bit of Dominican flare.

Elementary Geography
This course will provide an exciting opportunity for students to explore the world through maps, architecture, history and more! This will be a very hands-on class; time will be spent mapping and listening as well as doing experiments and activities. Students will be challenged to identify continents
and thirteen specific countries and begin to understand the ideas and features specific to each of those countries. Homework will be limited to semester projects such as building with LEGOs/blocks, painting or drawing, food projects, etc. along with a verbal or written explanation of the project. The goal of this
class is to see each student begin to understand and get excited about the world that God has created!

Lower Elementary Spanish
We will make learning Spanish fun. Your student will learn basic Spanish like numbers, alphabet, local expressions. Days of the month and seasons will be important as well. Repetition will work it into their minds all the while learning songs and having activities to help enforce the language. We will be learning about the different parts of the body, and family trees. I will share with the students some of my favorite music in Spanish and hope to expose them to different foods if time allows. The hope is through out the year they will start to pick up a number of words and be able to understand some basic conversational Spanish.
