PSAT/SAT/ACT Test Prep

This class is designed to prepare students with strategies and timed-practice tests for competitive standardized tests such as the ACT, PSAT and SAT.

Private Study Skills

Learn how to stay organized, prioritize, resist procrastination, become accountable for yourself and to others. Student-centered lessons which are based around the needs and goals of each student.

You Can Cook 1 High School

In You Can Cook 1, students will acquire the basics they need to be successful in the kitchen. Through hands-on lessons and in-class preparation, they will learn fundamentals of kitchen safety; basics of measurement; how to read, halve, and double a recipe; important kitchen terms and methods; and what kitchen tools to use and when. By the end of the year, each student will be equipped to prepare a variety of delicious foods on their own from scratch and will have begun to assemble a binder full of “keeper” recipes, tips, tricks, and techniques that they can build on for years to come. Plus, we’ll eat in nearly every class!

Speak Life Speech Therapy

Students who qualify for speech therapy services (see Requirements) will receive support for speech/language needs in areas such as articulation (speech sound production), expressive/receptive language (communication ability and effectiveness), fluency (stuttering), and social pragmatics.

Sewing

This is a beginner sewing class that will start at the very beginning with how to operate your sewing machine, including threading the machine, tension, and common stitches. Over the course of the school year you will make many projects that will advance your skills. We will start with small projects that will increase your knowledge and build your confidence. We will then end the year with making several wearable garments. Skills learned will include but are not limited to: sewing machine operation, reading patterns, proper cutting techniques, utilizing different stitches, working with different material, accurate measuring and marking, how to hold a seam allowance, and so much more. This course will take you from novice to making your own tailored clothes.

Business 101

David is the father of five amazing children and husband to Sarah. He is passionate about homeschooling and teaching the next generation! David has a Business Management Degree from Michigan State University and  Master's in Business Administration from Wayne State University. He has taught Business Management, Marketing, Personal Finance, and Professional Workshops and SMC. David also currently owns and operates two real estate companies. Instructing students in Business, Faith, & Life is his passion!
