This course will be complementary to any musician looking to advance their understanding of music both written and historical. In our first semester we will examine the mechanics of music in the music theory portion which will cover all aspects of musical notation and ear training. In our second semester we will apply that knowledge to the music appreciation portion as we delve into the history of western music through many of the great composers and their works.
In your first year of Biblical Greek we will focus on the basics of the language. This will mostly entail learning the alphabet, vocabulary and the grammar of the language. Translation will also be an ongoing aspect of our study. As the textbook states, “By the end of year one you will have learned over 100 vocabulary words, 10 memory verses and several important grammatical concepts”.
