Advanced Biology

This is an honors course that covers both the anatomy and physiology of each of the human body’s organ systems for those students
who have successfully completed high school biology.

This high school level college preparatory Algebra 2 course consists of lectures, homework assignments, problem set reviews, weekly quizzes and/or tests, group work, and mathematical journaling. Algebra 1 is a prerequisite of this course.

Students will gain a comprehensive understanding of the richness of America’s literary heritage through studying the life and times of authors and the significance of their works. This class fulfills the Michigan graduation requirement for American Literature, English, or an elective.

Our goal for this class is to prepare students to pass an entrance exam to enter college at an advanced level in the language. Students will learn vocabulary, grammar, and cultural information about the Deaf community in the United States.

Advanced Essay Writing

Designed to help students become more advanced writers while preparing them for college writing, as well as doing some prep work for the writing portions of the ACT, the AP exam, the CLEP test, and the Accuplacer exam at KVCC. A class that will not disappoint!

This United States Government course will motivate and infect students with a lifetime appetite to understand and participate in the proper functioning of the government at the Federal, state, and local levels.

ASL is a distinct language with its own syntax and grammar. Qualifies as a high school foreign language credit and will also prepare students to pass an entrance exam to enter college at an advanced level in ASL.

High school students will understand how to make the case for the validity of the Christian faith, outline the differences between Christianity and other world views, and to think critically and respond convincingly. Students can expect chapter readings, quizzes, in depth discussion, videos, and will be inspired to delve into the Word of God!

A survey of Christian apologetics based on the “Understanding the Faith” curriculum from Summit Ministries. The course focuses on theology and giving “reason(s) for the hope” we have in Christ (1 Peter 3:15).
